KTM Malaysia is having their Special Express Balik Kampung Keluarga Malaysia Promotion. In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this year, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will introduce one (1) special train service for Malaysian families known as the Malaysian Family Special Express and will make its journey.
The service will operate for the East Coast route starting from KL Sentral Station to Tumpat Station and vice versa. A total of 516 tickets were offered for this special train.
This initiative is an initiative of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia and KTMB with the slogan ‘Maghi Kelik Kampung’, as one of the alternative transportation for those who will return to the village for Hari Raya safely, comfortably and at an affordable fare.
The train will depart on April 29, at 11.00 pm from KL Sentral Station and will stop at 17 stations such as Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang, Nilai, Seremban, Pulau Sebang, Mentakab, Jerantut, Gua Musang, Pasir Mas and Tumpat.
The service is expected to arrive at Tumpat Station on April 30, at 3.55pm. While the return journey from Tumpat Station is on May 7, at 10.50 pm and will arrive at KL Sentral Station on May 8, at 3.04 pm.
Minister of Transport Malaysia, Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong said, “Usually, every festive season, especially Aidilfitri, road congestion will be faced by the people of the East Coast. This year, we expect a drastic increase in traffic because we have not been able to go home for two years.
“Therefore, with this service, it can reduce congestion and guarantee comfort and safety to Malaysian families.”
For its Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin said, “This special train is a special service from KTMB for Malaysian families who want to return home in comfort and save time”.
This special train will be equipped with bed coaches, premier and superior seat coaches, buffet coaches, and chillax coaches for prayer or moreh activities in large numbers.
“Tickets will go on sale on April 15 with prices starting from RM55.00 to RM83.00 for one -way travel. Special souvenirs will also be given to passengers who travel with this special train.
TRAIN ETS TAMBAHAN
Following the high demand in conjunction with this festive season, KTMB will provide two (2) additional electric train services (ETS) with 4,368 tickets.
It involves the journey from KL Sentral – Padang Besar and vice versa for April 29 to May 2 and May 6 to May 8.
This additional service is due to the sales status of tickets that have been sold out for the dates specified.
Ticket sales for this additional train will go on sale on April 15th.
Users are advised to purchase tickets through the KTMB Mobile application (KITS) or through the KTMB website.
Although the country has moved into an endemic phase, KTMB will still ensure that all its passengers comply with the SOPs set for the common good.
