JungleBird Malaysia is having their World Daiquiri Day. As you may have already heard, one of the world’s most important rum bars, Trailer Happiness in London recently took a devastating blow in the form of severe flooding caused by torrential rain in the UK’s capital.
After a challenging 18 months for the hospitality industry, London restaurants and bars were set to open back up to the public on 19 July 2021. Just days before this, the city was hit with a weeks’ worth of rain in the short span of a few minutes. If you have been to Trailer you will know it is situated at the bottom of both Notting Hill and Portobello road, meaning every drop of rain water ends up on their doorstep, in this case leaving the premises under 3 feet of water, destroying most of the bar.
In conjunction with World Daiquiri Day this year, we have decided to donate 100% of proceeds from our daiquiri sales to help Trailer Happiness get back on its feet. Trailer Happiness has been at the forefront of the global rum scene for over a decade and has been a huge influence to all of us here at JungleBird in many ways. With your help, we can do our part to make sure it comes fighting back stronger than ever.
Starting from Monday 19 July and ending on Sunday 25 July, a special edition of our ‘The Best Drink in the World’ (that’s our Daiquiri cocktail) will be available for order throughout the week for RM35. Our goal is to sell 100 Daiquiris by the end of it.
We at JungleBird will kick start this campaign with Loli, Divy any Josh each ordering the first 10 Daiquiris over the course of the first 3 days. Every little helps, even 1 daiquiri ordered will help us save this iconic bar and help the owners get back to business.
