An unexpected disaster has hit northern Japan with massive 8.9 quake today. The epicenter (coast of Honshu) is just 373 kilometers away from Tokyo. What came up as a suprised it actually that this quake also triggers a 10-meter tsunami and swept away cars and objects in it’s way. This quake cause maasive panic to the Tokyo city. Warning has being signal of tsunami after this quake in Japan. The lists of the warning are issued to Russia and Indonesia, Central American countries like Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica and the U.S. state of Hawaii.
As the MATTA Fair is around the corner, but the major question now is whether is this the best time to travel? Maybe yes and maybe not but if you are insists on travel, then there are few tips that can come in handy while you are in the earthquake or even tsunami countries.
The most important if you are in an earthquake is to be calm. This can really be a life safer if you don’t panic as you need to focus on what are the next steps that you should take to go thru this.
If you are outside, stay outside. Try to stay away from objects that will fall and injure you, especially the tall object. For example, light poles, trees, telephone booth, electric wire and etc. The fall object will not hit and injure you if you stay away from the objects.
If you are inside a building, try to stand in a doorway or crounch under a table / desk and make sure you be away from the windows or glass fixtures. With crounch under a table / desk this can prevent the object from falling directly to you but instead on the table. Staying away from window/glass fixture will ensure that you are not injured by the sharp glass falling.
If you are driving, try to stay away from the underpasses / overpasses and stop in the safest place possible. Be more cautious and stay away from tall object as they can be the potential pain to you. Once you find a safe place, stop there and stay there.
Meanwhile for the after impact, this will be on the tsunami. Here are some simple safety guide if you are in the situation. First and the most important thing. Make sure you hear the tsunami warning. Once you hear this, you should make sure the people with you know about this and follow the instruction.
Secondly, always get the Get to higher ground when you hear the warning. Try to find a place that the tsunami can not reach. This can prevent you from drowning.
