Now would probably be the best time to\u00a0sign up for fibre broadband in Malaysia. The package for the broadband plan are dirt cheap now.<\/p>\n
On Unifi packages, you can get a 30Mbps broadband plan from as low as\u00a0RM79\/month, or 100Mbps broadband with unlimited quota for only\u00a0RM129\/month.<\/p>\n
But unfortunately, seems like not everyone wants to enjoying faster speeds at lower prices. There are still more than 1 million TM customers that are still connected on Streamyx and they are entitled for Unifi Fibre Broadband upgrade but the have yet to do this upgrade.<\/p>\n
As per on the Unifi last media update, they have informed that 340,000 Streamyx customers were already covered by Unifi\u2019s Fibre broadband network and the team have tried reached out to them to make the switch. With this upgrade, these user will be getting faster speeds while possibly paying less on their monthly subscription fee. There are almost 50% customers have made the switch from copper to fibre with no extra cost to their current bill but the plan that TM have is that they want to move their remaining subscribers to the new upgrade by March 2019.<\/p>\n
For the subsequent 350,000 customers that are not in Unifi areas, TM will be\u00a0doubling their speed\u00a0up to 8Mbps in phases while they continue to expand its fibre network. The first batch of 180,000 Streamyx customers will be getting this 2X speed upgrade very soon.<\/p>\n
