{"id":2752,"date":"2018-07-12T17:30:36","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T09:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.everydayonsales.com\/news\/?p=2752"},"modified":"2018-07-12T17:31:36","modified_gmt":"2018-07-12T09:31:36","slug":"telekom-malaysia-to-upgrade-existing-unifi-internet-speeds-up-to-800mbps-and-its-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.everydayonsales.com\/news\/telekom-malaysia-to-upgrade-existing-unifi-internet-speeds-up-to-800mbps-and-its-free\/","title":{"rendered":"Telekom Malaysia to Upgrade Existing Unifi Internet speeds up to 800Mbps and It&#8217;s FREE!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good News if you&#8217;re a Unifi user as it&#8217;s time to rejoice because &#8230;<\/p>\n<h4>Telekom Malaysia to Upgrade Existing Unifi Internet speeds up to 800Mbps and It&#8217;s FREE!!<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2754\" src=\"https:\/\/www.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/unifi-upgrade.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"679\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/unifi-upgrade.jpg 1600w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/unifi-upgrade-300x200.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/unifi-upgrade-768x512.jpg 768w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/07\/unifi-upgrade-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here is the big announcement from Telekom Malaysia where they have announced today that it plans to upgrade all existing Unifi Home customers to speeds up to 800Mbps and they are doing the upgrade for FREE<\/p>\n<p>Now the existing Unifi subscribers will enjoy the following speed upgrades in stages starting 15 August 2018:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10Mbps to 100Mbps<\/li>\n<li>30Mbps to 300Mbps<\/li>\n<li>50Mbps to 500Mbps<\/li>\n<li>100Mbps to 800Mbps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Telekom Malaysia said new Unifi customers who signed up before 31 December 2018 will also enjoy the speed upgrade in phases beginning 2019<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re wondering what is the package that&#8217;s offered by Unifi now, below are the existing Unifi packages offered to new customers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>unifi lite plan 10Mbps at RM129\/month<\/li>\n<li>unifi advance plan 30Mbps at RM179\/month (some customers paying RM139\/month)<\/li>\n<li>unifi pro plan 100Mbps at RM329\/month<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For SME customers, Telekom Malaysia said more announcement will be made soon<\/p>\n<p>Of course in order for you to be eligible to the above cheaper plan you would need to meet some certain criteria. What&#8217;s the criteria?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The new Unifi Basic 30Mbps plan targeted to the B40 segment (household income below RM4500\/month).<\/li>\n<li>Unifi Basic cost RM79\/month and comes with a 60GB quota .<\/li>\n<li>Unifi Basic plan is offered to users via two options: Wired or Wireless. Unifi Basic is available exclusively online on the TM website starting 15 August 2018, pre-orders starts from 15 July onwards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Telekom Malaysia also said the Unlimited Mobile postpaid plan will be available from 15 July 2018 onwards. The plans comes with unlimited calls, SMS, and Internet, available exclusively to Unifi and Streamyx customers at RM99\/month.<\/p>\n<p>As according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/tech\/tech-news\/2018\/07\/12\/tm-offers-up-to-10x-speed-free-upgrade-for-unifi-pushes-top-speed-to-800mbps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Star<\/em><\/a>, Imri Mokhtar, Executive Vice President, unifi said in a media statement, \u201cWe are committed to serving all our broadband customers better, including our loyal and patient Streamyx customers who are asking for a faster broadband service. Part of our ongoing broadband improvement initiative is to upgrade more than 340,000 Streamyx customers located in unifi coverage areas to unifi. For Streamyx customers who are currently not in a unifi area, we are committed to continuously invest in the best of both fixed and wireless technologies to bring them high speed broadband. In the meantime, we shall double the Streamyx speed they are subscribing to today. More than 350,000 Streamyx customers are expected to enjoy faster broadband very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough the broadband plans unveiled today are primarily for home customers, we certainly have not forgotten our SME customers.
