Not so good news for the Tealive fans as according to\u00a0The CanLaw Report<\/a>, The Court of Appeal has dismissed Tealive\u2019s stay of execution and the bubble tea brand must now close up shop immediately.<\/p>\n

Tealive is a home-grown brand that is managed by Loob Holding was instructed by the court to close down after they had initially filed for an application to stay and that\u2019s precisely why Malaysians could still enjoy the Tealive beverages in the past 2 weeks.<\/p>\n

As according to The Sun Daily, Tealive operates 161 outlets nationwide and the\u00a0demise of Tealive in Malaysia will affect 800 staffs<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tealive has been well known to all the Malaysian since its inception less than 2 years ago.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This all started back in Feb 17 last year, when La Kaffa had sought an injunction to stop Loob Holding from selling products like theirs. Company director Chen Zhao, through his affidavit, claimed Loob Holding had breached the terms of the main franchise agreement, leading to its termination.<\/p>\n

He said the Taiwanese company began to have doubts about its then Malaysian counterpart in January 2016 when Loob Holding reduced its order of raw materials.<\/p>\n

Chen also claimed Loob Holding had failed to pay La Kaffa a sum of US$713,273.72 (about RM3.1 million) for the purchase of raw materials. This amount was later reduced to US$644,536.32.<\/p>\n

The dispute between La Kaffa and Loob Holding started in early December 2016, when the Taiwanese company terminated the master franchise agreement between the two parties even though there were more than 20 years left on the deal.<\/p>\n

But you would need to worry as there are many more bubble tea brands out there but the impact will definitely not be a minimal one because it\u2019s clear that locals favour the flavours and the appeal of the Tealive brand<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now that Tealive will no longer be around, it\u2019s time for a new wave of bubble tea brands to step up their game.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
