Is there any specific dress code that I must abide so I will not get kicked out when I am at the voting place.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier last week, there was a viral message circulating on the internet urging people to wear as if they are visiting a government office. Meaning that the voters are not supposed to wear\u00a0 the following clothes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slippers Ripped<\/li>\n<li>Torn jeans<\/li>\n<li>Shorts<\/li>\n<li>Short dress<\/li>\n<li>Sleeveless tops\/Spaghetti straps<\/li>\n<li>Miniskirts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But how true is this? The EC quickly officially confirmed stating that it\u2019s fake news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe EC has not and will not prevent a voter from entering a polling station as long as the voter is appropriately dressed,\u201d said EC\u2019s chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah.<\/p>\n<p>The only thing that the voters preferably not to wear is that their clother bear a preferred party\u2019s logo, then it\u2019s all good.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1888\" src=\"https:\/\/www.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/05\/dress-code-on-poling-day.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"724\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/05\/dress-code-on-poling-day.jpg 1002w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/05\/dress-code-on-poling-day-300x272.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/05\/dress-code-on-poling-day-768x695.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSection 26(1)(g) of the Election Offences Act 1954 states that a voter is not allowed to enter the polling station if the voter wears any clothes or carry items that display the name of candidates, their symbol or a party logo,\u201d explained Hashim.<\/p>\n<p>But either way, we don&#8217;t la dress not appropriate to vote.
