Bad news for these people as Uber Penang will start to charge customer extras is they are late<\/h4>\n

Recently, Uber has posted an article<\/em> <\/a> on its blog that they has started implementing “wait time charges” in Penang if you were to make your Uber driver waits for you.<\/p>\n

This penalty is not something new but Uber has implemented this in Singapore, US, UK, and selected countries where the ridesharing company operates.<\/p>\n

So how does the charges will be? The penalty charge will start three minutes after the driver arrives and the rider isn’t there yet at the selected location.<\/p>\n

The charges will be as below:<\/p>\n

UberX rides – RM0.23 per minute wait<\/em>
\n UberXL rides – RM0.40 per minute wait<\/em><\/p>\n

*The charges could be inflated depending on the period<\/p>\n

The waiting countdown timer will start only begin when the driver arrives at a pickup location. This is to ensure that the riders is not being charged fairly.<\/p>\n

This is part of the first few initiative from Uber to protect it’s driver after the take over<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n
